edited September 2013 in Canada
So Im from the states and I recently visited University of Toronto and I loved it, but I was looking on the site and it said that applications are already due... But how can that be?! I'm a senior and it's only September, I thought college applications were due on January 1st, is Canada different? Also, what are the acceptance rates and the average GPA and scores? I can't seem to find any information, thank you for your help!

But doesn't that say 2014-2015? My class is 2013-2014

Ok and do you happen to know what the odds are to get admitted as a US student?

While UToronto is one of Canada's top schools, admission standards are not particularly high. There is of course a high failure rate among first year students. What are your stats?

My unweighted GPA is 3.8, I'm top 20%, I will graduate with 10 APs, unfortunately only got a 4 in one, the rest are 3s but I haven't taken 4 of the AP exams yet. I have a 29 on my ACT, I know it's a little low so I am trying to get a 31, not sure if it can happen. For EC I do ballet, debate team, national honor society, have 100 volunteer hours, worked at a science camp as a councilor, and I also wrote a short story (unpublished) but since I want to major in journalism I would like to send it in. What are my chances?

Journalism? Try Concordia, Carleton or Ryerson. If U Toronto is still what you want, then journalism is only offered as a specialist major at UTSC.

Could someone tell me about admissions for Canadian citizens in America? My SAT is 2060 and I have a 3.78 unweighted. I'm 29/672 for class rank. Should I fill in the activities section of th OUAC application?

@Capncat I accept that you want to go to U Toronto, too, but what do you intend to study there? Filling out the activities section of the OUAC application wouldn't hurt; however, what field do you intend to study will determine whether or not you will actually attend U Toronto at all.
