Last year Carleton switched food provider to Bon Appetit, which also provides food for St. Olaf. The quality is very good, variety very good, committed to purchasing locally, etc. However there's more to a food provider than just the food, as Carleton students learned this year. Changes in labor practices and other policies (taking food out of the cafeteria) were controversial. I think things were getting better by the end of the year, but it was definitely a learning experience.
But yes, the food is quite good.
