CMU Car policy

what's the car policy for freshmen? Can we have them on campus?

Nope.

I don't even think freshmen are allowed to enter the lottery for parking spaces.

You could park in Schenley Park, but expect to have some damage done to your car during the course of the year (and possibly get a ticket or two that you don't see coming).

If you want to have a car at CMU your best bet is to move off campus second year and get a street parking permit from the city of Pittsburgh. They're only $20 for the whole year. You can also try getting into CMU's South Oakland Apartments since anyone living there is eligible for a Pittsburgh parking permit.
