CMU, Georgetown or UC Berkeley?

Hi, I got into Georgetown UC Berkeley and CMU, and I can't chose where to go.
Here is what I want from college:
A great economics program
Superb job placement
Opportunities for research, internships
Small classes for higher level classes
Prestige, good reputation
Pretty campus

Please help me by telling me which college you think meets my requirements. Above all, job placement and ranking/quality of economics program is most important. Do you think I should visit them, or can I make my decision without visiting? I live in Japan, so it will be expensive and a big deal to visit them.

Thanks!!

Okay, my opinion is a tad bit biased, but you should attend Cal! I am a student there (finishing up my first year) and I am in LOVE with the university and am thankful for all of the wonderful opportunities here!! Honestly, if you want a great and affordable education under the instruction of Nobel Prize awarded professors, look nowhere else! You won't find another university that works harder to provide for its students the best possible outlets, both academically and outside of school. Cal is an amazing place for research and internship opportunities, especially if you're interested in the medical field. My roommate is doing a research program that combines architecture and medicine. Its amazing the things that you can get into here! Of course, there is no other institution like cal as far as being prestigious. We constantly rank within the top twenty colleges of the United States (yearly) and the top thirty in the entire world (if I'm not mistaken, its listed on the internet somewhere, but I've lost the link). I can't speak for the other universities you've gotten into, but I can say that you have wonderful choices to choose from and congratulations on getting into Cal!

Tepper

You should go to Tepper, as it is guranteed and in the top 5 of the BBA programs. Berkely BBA is better than Tepper, but you can not get in until Junior Year, at which time there is no gurantee and you need 3.7 GPA. If it is just economics program, then Berkely.

It's unfortunate that you can't visit easily because that is the best way to find out where you really belong!

At least you should be comfortable knowing that if you have to choose between those three then you are guaranteed to end up attending a great school.

CMU will provide you with small classes, good academic environment and opportunities for research. Tepper BBA is excellent program and is fast rising to be amongst Top 5. But BS in Economics is different from BBA. Top companies recruit at CMU. You can also take classes at Univ. of Pittsburgh which is 10 mins. walk away. CMU will provide you with good learning experience. Weather is cold, bitter cold

Cal Berkeley has name recognition. It is one of the well respected centers of higher learning in the world. Expect large classes but loads of academic options. Cal has few Nobel laureates Mild weather and beautiful campus. Top companies recruit at Cal but as the graduating class size is bigger ,there is more competition.

In overall US News 2009 ranking of National Universities: Cal is ranked 21 and CMU is ranked 22.

Cal Berkeley business program is ranked 3 and CMU 6

In US NEWS 2009 Graduate Economic program ranking, Cal is ranked at number 3 and CMU at 20.

Hope this helps.
