chance an international student pls!

currently a junior in China:
SAT1 - 2320 ; Math -800; CR- 740; Writing - 780
SAT2 - MATH2 - 800; Physcis - 800; Chem - 790
GPA : my current school in Beijing does not do GPA, but i am top 5% of my class.
while i was an exchange student in D.C. for a year, i got 3.96 (UW). it was one of the most prestigious private schools in America.

I was selected by an exchange program in China. the program was trying to select future leaders who can promote cultural exchange and understanding between vastly different countries. it offers scholarships to the best private schools in the states. and i was living with three host families in a foreign country at age 16.
i wrote about my "foreign adventures" on a blog, which is popular among several schools in Beijing.

-elected class president.

-chief editor of yearbook.

-an avid writer and have won national awards for writing.

-chief editor of a school newspaper and a popular school magazine.

-in young writers' organization (a nationwide organization for gifted writers) for two years and was recently elected president.

and i am doing an engineering project over the summer, and i am going to teach at a middle school in a rural part of china.

i am applying to SEAS and not applying for FA

chance me pls!

That's what the neural network said. My best guess is that since CMU does not have a SEAS, it considerably hampered your chances. Best apply for CIT/SCS next time.

i think wildwildwes may be just pulling your leg - there's no real way to get such a number like he said (and the "neural network" seems suspicious).

scs = school of computer science.

i personally don't know about chancing (especially for international students), but your stats are strong enough for a lot of reputable colleges.

Whoa, what have you got against my neural network?

Also, most of the top schools don't give financial aid to internationals (including Carnegie Mellon), so don't worry about "selling" that point on your app.

to wildwildwes, i get what u said. i think they put students applying for FA in a different category. so i will be in the same pool with every other applicant from the US
