| Excitement!!! I was accepted into MT. I'm attached to my computer about 75% of the time, so feel free to IM me at skreaminsop87... and to clear up any questions, I'm not a soprano, I'm a bass. The "sop" in my screen name refers to the soprano voice in a brass choir (aka Trumpet), which is my other passion.
Congrats to everyone accepted! |

| Wait... What forum were people talking about me in... now you've got me interested. It probably was me, if it was about me and my trumpet. It's always been a huge part of my life since I was in first grade and I've been trying to leave my mark in both classical and jazz palying in my area. |

There is a Musical Theater thread under college majors. Actually there is this one that is specific to CMU MT/Acting and there is a general thread as well. That is where you were mentioned I believe. Look under college majors and click on Musical Theater Major.
My S is currently a junior BFA acting major at CMU. Hope you get the chance to meet him in the fall. |

It was I that asked where you went to high school. I teach in the Music and Theater Conservatory at a performing arts high school in California so I was curious. |

My son is a junior in the BFA acting program there. He has been very happy. Next year, if all goes well, he will participate in Showcase. We just went back to see him in a play at CMU a few weeks ago.
CMU will keep you very busy!! |

| Wct's son at CMU I just want to blow Wct's son's horn for a minute here. And those of you who decide to go to CMU next year (and major congratulations on your success btw) will be blown away by her son's talent. I too saw the the show he was in this semester, a really intense, three person play (over 2 hours long), and all I can say is that he was astonishing! It was a privilege to watch work of that caliber. I know there was a knock leveled at this program on the forum recently, but I have to tell you that given what I saw, the CMU Acting program is incredibly strong and deserving of its fine reputation.
Just another opinion to add to the mix.
PS I'm not in a position to judge the fulltime MT program as I've never seen a production and don't personally know any current students, but given my D's experience in the pre-college program I have to think it too is first rate. |

| I should be hearing back from them sometime this week, it is my number one choice right now. If I don't get in at CMU, I have to pick between Baldwin-Wallace for MT, Point Park for MT, and Otterbein for BA Theatre. |
