| Someone posted on the main thread about college acceptance dates that carnegie mellon is now up...they posted this early this morning. Why is my son's page not changed???? I'm mean, at this point, the best he can hope for is a waitlist...but it would be nice to know  and I feel like I'm looking the wrong place or something! | |

| Beachmom- reading those CMU posts I have concluded that the only thing we are going to get out of them is be driven nuts!
One person says letters are being mailed every day this week
One says that only the acceptances are being posted online - the waitlist and rejects later
One says that admissions said check online on Sunday
another claims they know the information will be posted by noon today | |

| The Scoop: Straight from the CMU Admissions Office
Ok, I am no longer afraid of calling Admissions Offices. I have been pleasantly surprised to find they are actually really nice, in spite of me calling to ask the same question they've been asked a hundred times. But considering the "plethora" of conflicting information we've all heard, I decided it was time to go straight to the source.
I just finished speaking with a very kind woman in the admissions office, and she verified that yes, the letters have been going out all week. She said there's no rhyme or reason as to the order the letters were sent out, it was just a matter of not being able to process them all in one day. She offered to check and see when my D's was mailed, and it was sent out on Wednesday.
She said that decisions will be available online on the "Where Am I In The Process" page within 3-5 days of the MAILING date of your letter. Therefore, if it went out on Monday, you might be able to view it online somewhere between Thursday and Saturday. For my D's, it should be available online anywhere between Saturday and Monday. Therefore, based on the way the mail tends to come to my house, we'll probably know online over the weekend long before the letter ever arrives! | |

| momsonfaith -- I just checked my D's as well, and it has the same thing. It didn't have that blank line before, and the date is also March 25. Based on what I posted a few messages back about my conversation with the Admissions Office, it makes sense that the 25th could have been the day they "processed" or printed out their decision letter and got it ready to mail. If, indeed, they SENT my D's letter out on Wednesday the 26th, it would have likely been PREPARED to send on the 25th.
Just my guess, but it's a guess! | |

| Our blank line is December 26th. We auditioned in November. However, the admissions office analysis and SAT scores weren't posted yet, and we do have all of those listed in February. Some of the kids who auditioned did not get anything posted about admissions analysis (or however it's worded) on their sites. S did not have a phone call and is expecting a denial, in fact, we're ready to send the deposit to his selected college this weekend. Also, we have never had an application completed note on the screen. I don't think you can really read anything into the web site, as another rumor was if you had the admission thing and the audition fee waived information you made it. I am going to ask for my money back if he doesn't get in due to the audition fee waived information. | |

| Just saw my CMU rejection on the online status check. That might mean something good is headed your way, Happymom. Mine was blank until it said "Not Admitted". Just gotta keep my head up! | |

| My S's letter from CMU came yesterday (dated March 26th). REJECTED (expected, at this point). It was a form letter from the admissions office--nothing personal from the Drama Department. Gave up checking the on-line status after MANY calls to the admissions folks with no changes or updates over many months.
Seems like a good idea to follow up on the "audition fee waived" note, although I'm sure that will go nowhere. | |
