I am a sophomore high schooler. ***First off, how good/top notch is Carnegie Mellon's computer animation/graphics program? And how good is the Bachelor of Computer Science and Arts (can you give me more info on it)? Does the BAchelor of Computer Science and Arts INCLUDE the Animation major or other similar majors?

Recently I've been forced to make the decision between taking AP US history in my junior year OR Honors US History. I am planning on going to Carnegie Mellon in the major listed above. I'm already taking 2 other APs.

AP or HN US History

Animation

The thing is AP US history is apparently REALLY hard at my school and requires so much reading. MY question is ***Does Carnegie Mellon really like its students or even require them to take AP US history for the college?

CMU certainly doesn't require APUSH (some schools don't even offer it), and it's up to you which class to take. CMU likes to see that you challenge yourself, but no one really cares if you chose not to take one AP class. One lesson I learned after high school was that there's no point in doing things just to impress colleges--you should just work hard and do things you like, and your interests will naturally show up in your application.

There is a BS in computer science, but there is no animation major at CMU. If you're looking for just an animation major, you probably want to look elsewhere -- there are only 3-ish classes available on campus (Anim. Art & Tech, Intro to Maya and the ETC's Intro to Maya. Only Anim. Art features a heavy animation workload.)
