Does carnegie mellon look at a prospective student's high school freshman year grades during the admission process? |

| CMU Admission,
I was rejected from Tepper but accepted to HSS. Even though Tepper was my first choice, I fully understand the prestige that HSS holds as well, and as of now it's my first choice (I'll be visiting April 19th). Can you please discuss the possibility of an internal transfer where I could double major between Tepper and HSS? Thank you. |

| CMU Admission,
I was placed on the waitlist for ECE but accepted to other departments in CIT. I am just wondering, what is the chance of getting admitted into ECE if I was only placed on the normal waitlist. And also, would it increase my chances of admission if I ask the IB coordinator to forward my current IB transcript which is approximately 2 marks higher than the one she previously sent in for the mid-year report? Thank you. |

| Design Program My daughter was accepted to the Art Department, but not to the Design program which was her first choice. We have read the information regarding the difficulty of transferring into Design and that there is no guarantee even if she is a student there.
How difficult is it? What are the chances? She is trying to decide whether to pursue this now or try again later at the graduate level. |

| SCS Wait list There are several different ways that we treat the wait list for SCS. For more specific information, please call the Office of Admission (I am out of the office right now) but I am sure that any of the counselors would be happy to help you! |

| re:Financial Aid package Hello Ed,
If you still haven't received your financial aid package yet, please contact the Office of Admission so a counselor can verify that all your documents are complete and then we will also be able to give you a mail date for your letter or at least push the package through to the committee faster.
thank you for your question! |

| Freshman grades While we do look at the Freshman year grades, we typically recalculate their gpa and examine grade trends using 10th, 11th and mid-year 12th academic record. In some cases we will weigh freshman grades more heavily when looking at special circumstances (health issues, drop off or increase in grades, etc.) |

I am just wondering if there is a priority waiting list for ECE? Also, can you please discuss the possibility of being admitted from the normal ECE waitlist (I guess I am on the normal waitlist since i was told that I would know of the result by June 1)
thank you~ |

| As far as a Request a Financial Aid package Review as a Priority Wait list, I would recommend that you call the Office of Admission and a Counselor can go over your individual package/case. |
