For admissions to CMU in the carnegie institute of technology, the website says an SAT II chem score is required....I'm taking AP chem next year as a senior....so my only thought is to apply for maybe the school of computer science, and if accepted, switch to CIT. Is there a better way to do engineering at CMU without an SAT II in chem?

Are you sure it's not SAT II in any science (back when I was applying, around 6-7 years ago, it was any science you wanted)? I haven't heard of any colleges requiring a specific test within the sciences.

Also, CS is considerably more difficult to get into than CIT, so I don't know if that's a great plan.

well actually they require either chem or physcis. Unfortunately for me, Im taking both next year - i did Bio as a sophomore though and took that SAT II, assuming Id be set for the "science SAT II" requirment at all colleges.

Have you taken normal Chemistry at your high school, or do they make you choose AP or HS level? If you've had basic chemistry in high school, you should still be able to score perfectly well.

Get a SAT 2 book and start studying over the summer then.

I took "regular" chemistry my freshman year, so its been a while....and ya self studying is an option, but thats a very undesireable option to me
