According to the CMU website:
I submitted my application through commonapp. I got a confirmation e-mail from commonapp, but there was no such number attached to it. I never got an e-mail from carnegie, receipt or otherwise, (just searched it in my gmail), so I'm wondering what happened to my ID, and how can I find it?

I searched the website and couldn't get any info on it.

Also (the website is so hard to navigate) when will we get our decisions back? I can't find a timeline/date anywhere.

Call admissions about your ID.

Yes, call admissions. They should have sent it within a couple weeks of your application being submitted. I had them re-send mine.

And if you applied regular decision, you'll find out around April 1. I think it says so on the website.

The ID is in a snail mail letter that you would have received shortly after you sent the application. If you can't find it, call admissions. They can re-send it in the mail, or, oddly, text it to you. They can't email it for some reason.

hi i'm an international student i currently study in shanghai, china. i applied to carnegie mellon, and all i got back from them so far is a email back in January stating that i have "successfully applyied for admission to Carnegie Mellon University".

i never got a "snail mail"
i never recieved my Admissions ID so i can check my application status
i never got a letter or any further email from carnegie
and its march already....
should i be worried?
or is it just because i don't live in the states?

Don't hesitate and call them right away!

Hi,
CMU sent one snail mail immediately after our application ie with in 2 weeks after my application. Ask them to resend the same.

Hoho just call the admission office and they will email you your ID number later. I did that, after 3weeks' worthless waiting for that STUPID snail mail.
