I'm trying to decide between CMU and johns hopkins for pre-med. JHU is obviously a stronger school for pre-med but that's not going to completely persuade me to go to JHU. but i was wondering if CMU is still good. like how many of their med school applicants go to the top med schools and such.
my plan at CMU was to do ChemE with the double major thing in BME with all the pre-med stuff. or is there a better pre-med plan/track at CMU?
I really don't have anything to add on the Carnegie Mellon end of things but Johns Hopkins pre med and BME ='s INSANE COMPETITIVE. like sabotage competitive, one my friends cousin left some molecule project of sorts out when she went to the bathroom and when she came back it was completely destroyed.
My S is considering CMU premed-had a great visit with the pre-med advisor, really liked all the creative energy on campus. I am a real doc, and my co-worker went to CMU premed, and loved all the attention, ability to do research, and Pittsburgh. It was not cutthroat there at all...Also, much safer city.
