Am I allowed to do this?

So I took SAT I, IIs, and ACTs...am I allowed to send in just ACTs and SAT IIs?

I called CMU and talked to an admissions officer and they both said that you must submit ALL scores. At first I thought it meant I could choose two of my SAT IIs and pick one ACT or SAT. But they want the score of every single SAT, ACT, and SAT II you took from 9th-12th grade.

I thought the deal with SAT's--CollegeBoard policy, is that if they send one SAT, they send them all-you can't pick and choose. Or maybe it has changed this year? Now if you don't select the ACT to be sent there is no way they can know if you took it, therefore the option to do it or not. But maybe somebody can correct me if I'm wrong with the SAT, I think it is all or nothing, no option to do otherwise.

SAT now lets you pick and choose, but some colleges require all scores sent. I'm not sure they can legally find out if you don't tell them.I also know that they can't find out if you took SATs or ACTs if you don't tell them UNLESS your high school puts it on your transcript. Ours does, so be careful you don't get undermined by your guidance department.

CollegeBoard now supports "Score Choice" so you can pick which test date to send.

Score Choice - New SAT Score-Reporting Policy
See FAQ, you can only select by test date. Colleges cannot reject or opt-out. However you are expected to follow college policy, "as a matter of integrity".

I attended many info sessions. Many AO said, you should send all scores any way. Typically, AO would look at your top scores from all tests you have taken.
For example, if you have taken SAT twice and ACT, they'll look at all scores and pick the top score in math, top score in CR, and top score in WR. If you have taken many SAT2 subjects, they'll pick the top 2 or 3. Some AO said they like to see big improvement between tests.

Taking SAT more than 3 times is not advised unless you have to. I heard a AO said, for applicants with more than 3, they would average all your tests, instead of picking the top scores from different test dates.

Between SAT and ACT, colleges only require one. AO would like to see all, but it's up to you. However, as an example, if you got better math in SAT and better reading in ACT, then you should send both.
