Deferred Early Action 2015?

jkrtistjkrtist Registered User Posts: 220 Junior Member
I just found out that I was deferred-- I didn't think i'd get in anyway but i'm happy!

I was wondering- do all early action applicants who aren't accepted deferred-- do they not reject anyone right away? I know some schools do that but i wasn't sure! Thanks!

Sure they reject some applicants outright. But the numbers of Case early rejects are relatively few compared to other high ranked schools since Case's applicant pool is highly qualified and fairly homogeneous.

I applied to early action to Fordham and was deferred. Is it hard to get accepted during regular admission?

It all depends on the regular admission applicant pool and how you compare to them. You should apply to other schools as if you won't get into Case. That way, if you are accepted at Case, you will have choices other than a gap year. You should also re-evaluate the schools you have or will apply to based on the Case deferral (reach/match/safety) to make sure you have a reasonable mix.

    Good luck!

Case Western rejects very few applicants EA in case they don't get enough qualified RD applicants. However, this year, with the applicant pool up almost 60%, I'd say deferred EA will likely indicate rejected RD.

Where did you get that 60% number from?
