CRWU or UCSC? only one week to decide!!

So I have to commit to either Case Western Reserve Univerity or UC Santa Cruz in a couple days and I cant decide. I have visited both schools like them both and like both for different reasons. I currently live in Laguna Hills, Orange County, CA. I plan on studying Biology and then going on to Med School. So which would you decide?

Well, from an academic point of view, clearly Case stands above Santa Cruz. Case has a smaller enrollment, they send 9% of their students to med school, and Case has their own med school as well. UCSC is not seen as a top UC so that might ding you a little bit when applying to med school. But UCSC is a 6-hour drive from where you live, the tuition is less (you didn't say what kind of grants and scholarships you have), and so it's more practical than going all the way to Ohio. I think only you can decide if being closer to home and maybe less tuition is important enough to outweigh the academic superiority of Case.

Personally, I think you should experience education in a new location/perspective, rather than staying in-state.

I don't really think they're even nearly on the same academic level...Unless you really want to stay on the west coast, I'd say Case.

Oh, I'm currently a third year Bio student at Case, and I think the bio program here is really great. Tons of research and clinical opportunities, with the med school and university hospitals right on campus.
