Safety issue

Our daughter is considering CUA. Can any students/parents comment on safety issues on and off campus. Also, how safe is the trip from the train station on the Metro to and from CUA? Thanks

I recently visited CUA and know a girl who goes there. While I have heard that the neighborhood it is located in is not the greatest, I would not be conserned. When I took a tour, we walked all around and felt fine. The area directly around the campus is great and closed off from anywhere sketchy. Also, the metro is right on campus so your daughter will not have to go far to get to downtown DC, Georgetown, etc. Just don't wander around late at night. Also, I got the impression that security at the Basilica was tight, which is right on campus, and I always say security guards walking around it. The campus is gorgeous and the people are so friendly! Security should not deter her from going to CUA. It's a great school.
