Awfully quiet here - when do y'all hear about EA decisions?

Even though Splash knows the letters will not arrive for several more days, she can't seem to stop herself from running to the mailbox on a daily basis. Did y'all turn in the early estimate aid form? In addition to his regular job, DH does some consulting for which he has an accountant who manages his invoices, etc. He said we'll just do the FAFSA and any other $$ forms after we get our W2s. I hope that wasn't a major mistake.

Yep. We did. Such as it was. Our income (and outgo) is such a variable number. I think they'll just reject her rather than having to deal with it.

You're a nut, curmudgeon. Is anyone else feeling the excitement waning due to financial concerns regarding college? I don't want to bring Splash down, and I'm trying not to let it show, but I do worry a bit about that.

I am now realizing we made a major mistake! How could I have missed the December 1 deadline for the early estimate aid form? I feel so very stupid. I didn't realize it was a requirement for those students applying EA to have it in by December 1st. I am crushed. This has brought me to tears today. How can we have missed this? I'm sick.

Splashmom,
I sent you a PM too, but I thought I'd post it here too. I'm sorry I didn't see your message earlier or I would have responded then. I called about the early estimate form and the admissions counselor said it wasn't necessary for the Early Action decision or for Merit aid decisions. It only matters for need-based aid so you can get a early estimate of total aid available. She said if you didn't do it, then you just do the FAFSA and a different Centre form that asks that asks for the same kind of information.

I hope this hasn't ruined your new year because I don't think you've caused your daughter any problem at all!

Happy New Year! We should be hearing soon!

Splash is still in bed. It's our last day of Christmas break before returning to school on Monday, so I'm letting her sleep as late as she wants. I'll keep an eye on the board to see if anyone hears anything, at which point I will jump on the end of her bed and demand she get up immediately.
