Adultparentmom! Thank you for the information! Sounds like something we should definitely look into. I'm happy your daughter got a scholarship! So did my son! He is so happy that he can now "for sure" go to Chapman.

2012rent and Adultparentmom: Congratulations to your kids for their scholarships. Would you mind sharing the statistics of your kids, i.e., GPA,
test scores, etc. Also, did you have to complete paperwork for the scholarship?

Thanks in advance.

No, we didn't need to complete any paperwork for the scholarship; automatically considered when we applied early.
GPA W 4.37
GPA UW 3.68
Rank: 33 out of 711
SAT 2130
National Merit Semi-Finalist
Hope this helps.

Awww, I'm sorry to hear that, Anisha! :-( What major were you trying to get into? What other schools are you applying to?

Congratulations to your son, Me&BobbyMcGee! How exciting. Did he apply to Dodge College also? If he did, has he received a packet of information yet? My son has only received the two letters of acceptance and the scholarship letter. How about you? Thanks.

2012rent, I didn't realize your son was accepted to Dodge College. Is he screenwriting or production? My S applied for production and we are still w-a-i-t-i-n-g.

Thanks 2012rent.

Yes, my son did receive a large envelope with lots of information inside. Included are the letter of acceptance, certificate of acceptance, information about housing, and a brochure called "Steps to Enrollment". He was accepted by Dodge and is very enthusiastic. We were incredibly impressed with Dodge when we toured last summer.

Did you son apply to any other film schools?

I've been accepted to Screenwriting. So far I've received the packet in the mail (the black MYCHAPMAN folder) and today I received a letter from the Dodge congratulating me on my acceptance.

I went out to L.A. this summer to visit UCLA, USC, LA Film School, and Chapman -- but Chapman was in the middle of their orientation week and weren't touring. And since I went alone, I was only using public transportation and didn't have time in my schedule to spend that much time on the rail. I'd love to visit but don't know if I'll be able to. So when you all visited, what were your impressions? I see that you guys liked it, but what really stood out, what was unsettling (if anything), etc.?

Hello. I was accepted into Chapman. I got the acceptance letter, some random letter, and a scholarship letter, but I haven't gotten a letter from Dodge. Did the film school letter come after the scholarship letter?

Hello everyone! My S received the scholarship letter and acceptance letter from Chapman one day, the next day he received the acceptance letter from Dodge College. His major is digital arts. He has applied to USC for film, and UCLA for digital media. He was also interested in NYU, but after visiting there over Christmas break he decided not to apply. What stood out for us regarding Chapman was the quality of equipment, really nice people, nice campus and dorms, small classes, awesome networking opportunities, internships. Nothing unsettling. The digital arts major is only a few years old. That's the only (small) negative, but the networking and internship opportunities outweighs (in my opinion) any growing pains (if there are any, I don't know.) The negative we saw with USC is it's right in the middle of L.A. You're on campus or you're in L.A. We really like Orange County and it's not that far to L.A. Hope this helps.

What were the majors you (or your child) applied for within Dodge College? So far we have Hopeful2012er with Screenwriting and 2012rent's son with Digital Arts.
