Anyone else still waiting to hear from Chapman?

So yeah...I'm getting nervous. It's April 22nd (technically April 23rd since it's past midnight), and the last update on my webadvisor is still Decision Pending, posted on April 8th. I'm a transfer student trying to get into the film production program. I expect transfer students to be accepted later, but it sounds like most people have already gotten their decisions. Anyone else still waiting?

Well I called them yesterday and apparently they haven't received my transcript yet (another girl from my school said that Chapman hadn't received her transcript either), even though I asked the registrar twice and she said she had sent it in.

Chapman probably lost my transcript. And the lady on the phone said there wasn't really anything I could do about it.

No biggie. I don't know if I would've been able to go anyways, given that I got into Davis and my parents prefer that I stay up in Norcal.

I'm still waiting to hear about the film program at Chapman too - same as you, "decision pending". It's driving me crazy! I live in England so the mail will take longer to reach me as well...!

I just emailed them and got this response:

Dear Claire,

It looks like your file is complete and pending a decision. It's in the
process of evaluation, and as soon as a decision is made a letter will
be sent out to you. Transfer students are barely hearing back from us
just yet, so it could be up to four more weeks before you hear back, but
hopefully we can get that to you sooner.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us by
email at admit@chapman.edu or by phone at (714) 997-6711 or toll free at
1-888-CU-APPLY.

Best wishes,
Office of Admission
Chapman University

At least they got back to me quickly!

Thanks for sharing the email...makes me feel a bit better that they're at least prompt in their response. That said, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going absolutely crazy waiting.

Nice... I'm waiting for Chapman to respond as well. It says decision pending since April 10th. I have no worries though. I'm entering as a transfer. How about you all? I'm majoring in Entrepreneurship. Best of luck to all of you.

A note's been added to the Web Advisor admission status page:

Update: Orange Campus transfer students for Fall of 2008. Our file reading system has been experiencing technical difficulties since May 2 2008. Transfer notifications will unfortunately be delayed. We are doing everything in our power to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Admission Counselor David May at dmay@chapman.edu.

Have any transfer applicants heard back yet? I've applied for Screenwriting as a transfer and am still waiting for a decision...

-Claire

I called them today actually...well now yesterday... but they said that the system is down and they can't make any decision until their system gets back up. It will definitely delay the process but it should all work out hopefully within a week. Call them and ask them if you have any questions. I can't believe they are leaving us this far on the edge of our seats.

Best of luck to you all.

I just heard I got in! I got an email from one of the admissions staff I met with last year - the official letter will be delayed for another week or so but the Web Advisor page had been updated, so it's worth keeping an eye on it.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting; I hope you hear real soon.

Congrats!

My webadvisor still has the same File Complete, Decision Pending from April 8th with the message about the file reading system being down. That said, hearing that another transfer student was admitted even with the file reading system down gives me some hope.

Congratulations!

Is everyone else still waiting on a decision? I know they must be frustrated with WebAdvisor down, but it's driving me crazy, too. :x

Gosh, I just called them the other day and they said the system would be down for at least a week, maybe even longer, and I was just accepted as of May 16. I am so excited to meet everyone there. Best of luck to everyone who is still waiting. Keep believing and seeing your acceptance as already complete. Envision what it feels like to attend Chapman. That's what I did. The Law of Attraction... Always working all the time.
