doonvarn: S was accepted at John Carroll and we had a great visit there. The campus is beautiful, very classic college campus with similar traditional architecture etc. Located in a safe area in suburban Cleveland. Business majors have many internship opportunities especially at the Cleveland Clinic (large research hospital). Sports are DIII, but Ohioans love their sports at any level, so I am sure there are many students participating. There is a beautiful new science building and the dorms are nice as well. The chapel was full of information on service opportunities, many students go downtown on the weekends and help with feeding the homeless, etc. also trips over spring break to central and south america as service projects. Like all Jesuit schools "Be a man or woman for others" is the mantra. The school is small, but being in Cleveland and with all the museums/concerts/sports/entertainment that Cleveland has to offer (not to mention great ethnic food), I don't think you would lack for much to do.

Tim Russert is a JCU graduate. You should visit if you have the chance.

Looking forward to hearing what you think about John Carroll. I think it is an underrated gem and would have been happy if my son decided to go there. He likes the school, but they do not have the program he wants and he will most likely end up at another Jesuit school.

John Carroll is a great not-too-well-known Jesuit college. Especially good for business. Located in a very nice neighborhood.

I chose John Carroll. I had a great visit at the school and everyone I met was friendly. Dorms looked great, teachers I met with were engaging so I am optimistic about my experience. I definitely preferred my visit to John Carroll over my visit to Fordham.

Congratulations doonvarn! I think you are going to have a great experience at John Carroll. Cleveland is actually a great college town, I lived there for three years and have fond memories of the city. You will become a Cavs fan in no time.

Best wishes!
