Hi! I was recently accepted as vocal performance major at CCM. Unfortunately I cannot visit the college before I choose which school to attend, as we do not have the money to fly. I was wondering quite a bit about the program. I am not sure as to whether I wish to pursue MT or Opera as of yet, and am hoping to get a well rounded education in both. I was told that a VP student learns both, but emphasizes opera and that one can audit dance and acting classes within CCM as well. Is it possible to minor in other areas? Weird question, but is it possible to audition sophomore year into another department and then double major or something (or am I completely crazy??)?

Last question, if I decide to go to CCM, my school has a college decision shirt day, but I cannot find any CCM shirts on the internet. Is there a campus store that sells these shirts that I can contact to buy one from?

emily16, I can't answer any of your questions about program, but if you want a shirt, I'd imagine your best bet would be a general University of Cincinati shirt -- CCM (the College-Conservatory of Music) is one of the many colleges that make up the University as a whole. Do a search for University of Cincinnati bookstore; they seem to have a good selection. Good luck with your decision!

Similar to mommafrog, I don't have tons of information specific to the VP and MT programs at CCM, but I do know that CCM does have specific T-shirts (I have seen them in display cases) but I have no idea how you purchase one. UC has an online store and you can get a bearcat or UC T-shirt there.
As for programs, after lots of years of watching friends of DD through various programs my assessment is all the programs V, MT dance, acting are very separate and I don't think there are many cross-over opportunities. But this is not first hand knowledge, asking the program is probably the best way to get specifics.

I was over there today and saw that the CCM clothing may be purchased on Fridays in the lobby of the CCM building or at other times I believe by going into the CCM Admissions office. CCM clothing is NOT sold at the regular UC bookstore - I went in there today as well and asked. Hope that helps.
