| I auditioned at UM on Feb 8 and just got my acceptance yesterday. I think the schools are taking longer to respond since their larger auditions are just finishing. |

| Congrats on Michigan, bunch, even though this is the CCM thread. (It's hard not to digress on this board, isn't it?) Bunch, did your acceptance come via email? |

| Yes, it came from email, but I could access on the Wolverine access site as well. Thanks. I am excited, but now the decision on where to go and that will be hard. I love the three places I have been accepted to, and they each have their strong points. They all feel great in their own ways. |

| Ok, getting antsy here!! Question for those at Chicago Unifieds...Has anyone heard one way or the other from any of the following schools: Carnegie (for acting), Boston University (for acting), Emerson (for acting), NYU (acting) and Otterbein (although I saw dr. johns post on the other thread and it seems some news will be mailed out this week to everyone)?
Just curious to know where my son might be in the process...Thanks. Sorry, I'm such an impatient waiter!! |

| Please understand that each school has different admisions and notification processes. Some are rolling, such as CCM.
As far as your question....CMU, BU, Emerson, and NYU all are schools that let everyone know at once (not counting those who applied ED or EA) approximately April 1. So, nobody has heard from these schools as it is impossible. |

| Thanks...that is sort of what you know, but then you go through those total moments of thinking maybe somebody knows something... ...know what I mean. Anyway...my son is fine with the whole process and accepts it is what it is...I have to vent on here as I don't want to vent with him and make it a constant concern in the house...does that make sense??
Thanks, again... |

| I think what happens is that you observe people posting admissions decisions on CC all this time and start to wonder but you just have to realize that MANY colleges do not send decisions as they go along and they send them all at once in late March or around April 1. So, that's just how it is. It isn't "late," but just the norm at many schools.
My oldest child applied to regular colleges (was not in theater) and all of her colleges informed her around April 1. So, the way I saw it was we were in the admissions frenzy during the fall semester of applications. Then, we tried to put college stuff out of our mind in Jan. and February and then in late March, it was at the forefront of our thinking again.
I realize with BFA applicants, there are the auditions all winter. But when those are done, it is good to sit tight and enjoy the "lull" and put college stuff out of your mind as best as you can until it picks up in mid March again. Try to focus on something else during the waiting period which is now a few more weeks.
In any case, don't expect to hear from those four schools for several weeks. For NYU/Tisch, they do send out "Saturday in the Square" invitations for selected admitted students around the third week in March and so you might hear that way earlier than April 1 when official decisions are sent out. |

| Thanks...that is good information to have. My oldest (a daughter) applied to one school last year, got accepted December 1 and we were done. Non-acting and just so easy...this is our first time to play the waiting game on colleges. It will be so fun though to see what actually happens. The nice thing is, he is in to one of his major choices and in to many others that saw him at a regional audition (but that he is not interested in) so he won't be left with nothing and that makes it a little easier |
