Hi BroadwayHopeful - welcome! By now you probably have found all the great information on this thread including audition information from seniors just like you who are applying to CCM this year.

My D auditioned on campus in Dec. and had a really nice time. The audition was well run and started with an info session, followed by the group dance audition which was not terribly difficult. Subsequently she did her monologues and songs, and she was asked a few questions. Overall things were pleasant and everyone was quite friendly. We toured the campus on our own as there were no tours the day of her audition. We found that CCM's facilities are pretty new and "state of the art-ish" . Hope this helps a bit!

Just do your best and have fun!

Good luck this weekend with your auditions. My son auditioned in Dec. as well. The day started in the small lecture hall across from the admission's office at 8am. Then they broke for the dance call. The dance was not terribly difficult according to my S. He said it was really fast moving and a lot of fun. It was actually a dance from Legally Blonde. I guess during the dance session, Mr. Berg talked to the auditionees and they observed some of the current MT students. After the dance call which ended around 9:45 we just waited. His aud time was at 2:30. He actually went in a little early so it is a good thing to be 1/2 hour early. My S said they were all very attentive and friendly and respectful. After the audition they asked him several questions especially about his training. Then he was finished. It was very well organized and everyone was very helpful and supportive.
We were at the Cincinnatus competition this weekend and they said they were having over 640 students auditioning this coming weekend. Of course that includes all of CCM, not just MT. So my advice to you would be to find a quiet place where you won't get distracted and hang out there to keep yourself focused. Enjoy yourself. This is a great field to pursue.
