I got my acceptance yesterday, although I had gotten an early letter because of the Carlson/science scholarship. Unfortunately, besides the merit scholarship, they didn't give me much aid and it looks unlikely that I'll be attending. Glad I have a couple of affordable options already, otherwise I'd be freaking out.
To those thinking of going to Clark (Congrats!):
I visited in February and did an overnight visit. The kids there are wonderful. They were amazingly friendly, interested in learning about me and putting in a good word for their school (they love it there), a bit quirky, and the kind of group that seems open, accepting, and diverse. They may not be as intellectual as at other schools - I will warn you, if that's important to you. They also party small but have a lot of things to do on campus.
Academics seem top-notch. The students I met were so interested in the projects they were working on and eager to tell me about them. My host kept saying how much she LOVED her organic chem class (imagine that). Classes don't get bigger than 120 or so, and even that's rare. They seem to have good advising, but I heard that if you change your major halfway through and don't have an advisor in your new academic area, it can get kind of messy. Lots of students do research.
Worcester is not a nice looking city, and I was warned that it could be dangerous as well. However, it affords students great opportunities to do community service. One student I met volunteers in high-needs schools implementing and teaching music to children. Other people volunteer at or do fundraisers for food shelves. I heard that the citizens of Worcester are very grateful towards Clark students.
Campus is nothing amazing, but it is pretty. Small and easy to navigate. The suite that I stayed in was very spacious.
I hope this helps. I loved it when I visited, so I'm putting in a good word!
