Financial Aid Package

My son got his FA package from Clarkson today.

$2428 was gapped, $8000 in loans and $1200 in work study.

This is the first FA package for my first kid so I don't have anything to compare it to but it seems doable if necessary...

What do you mean by gapped?

My son's EFC is zero. Clarkson doesn't meet full need like, for example, University of Rochester. COA minus Total Award minus EFC = Gap.

At least that's how I define it.

I got an extremely similar one. The only difference between your son's and mine is that I have a 4K gap instead of a 2.5K one.

luckskywalker7,

Also my son got a $9000 merit scholarship which was very nice but to keep it he must maintain a 3.25 GPA. That seems like a lot of pressure to me, one C might put his scholarship in jeopardy.

Clarkson seems like a solid college, especially for engineering. But my son is scratching it off his list, he got better FA offers from Union, Binghamton and Buffalo and is also considering RIT.

Good luck.
