Napalm-- that's so awesome about Pitt! Congrats!
Swizzle--I kind of hope you don't have to go to state flagship after all the crap you've been through dealing with them...aargh! Congrats on your math grade!
SteveMA--last acceptance and now the wait, cool, it has gotta' feel good to know that at least one phase of college search is behind you.
My DH (BLESS HIS HEART) was worried we had to make a decision about Alabama soon. I had to explain to him that we're just gettin' started, that we really won't know anything till all the acceptances/rejections/deferrals are sorted through and aid packages considered, which won't be until next spring sometime.
I love my DH, but I gotta say he is pretty out-of-touch...He thinks DS should just go to UVA on the Jefferson Scholarship and has no clue how uber competitive it is. I guess that's why I find refuge in these threads and all your posts...it reminds me I am not alone.

My DH is trying to complete the 2013-2014 CSS Profile, which is due at the mid November point. But, it's asking for 2012 tax information (specific)- but we won't have that for several months yet. What should we do? Do we just not complete the 2012 section? Do we guess/estimate?
I'm sorry. I feel like we should know some of this but ugh!

Vandy: I just guessed. It is fairly easy for us since not a lot has changed so I don't anticipate it being much different than last year so I just put in last years figures.

The CSS profile I'm using doesn't ask for specific numbers for 2012. Vandy, doesn't it say to "estimate using 2011 tax return and 2012 financial documents." I used our most recent paystubs and annualized the income . . . some things I took from our 2011 tax forms. I'm still waiting on one bit of information before I can finish.

Thanks. I appreciate the help!
Ok, now how do we answer THIS?? The CSS/Profile is asking WHAT COLLEGES IS MY D APPLYING TO AND WHAT IS THE TOP CHOICE, SECOND CHOICE AND THIRD CHOICE??
What the heck do I do with that?? That seem just wrong to even ask. Aren't all colleges going to be able to access this information?
HELP!!! (yes, I am screaming this!)

vandy, I don't remember that from the CSS - what is the question number? Is it a supplement for a particular school, or are they just asking for the schools so it can put them on the list?

I did not have that question either. The only school we listed was the EA school. We will not list the other schools until we have the end of year numbers.

I think it is from a supplement. Either F U R M A N or St 0l af. How in the world are we supposed to answer that when all the schools can see it. Can't they??
Five of her schools require this form by mid-month for EA.

I just think that is a rude question! It is one thing to ask what schools are being applied to, but to ask what is the order of choice for wanting to attend? What the heck?!
Ugh!
What would YOU do?

In other news, I'll share my D's happy moment-
She got her first acceptance last week!
0hi0 Wes ley an! She was offered an acceptance, 22k/yr renewable scholarship, admission to the Honors Program and will be going in Feb to compete for additional scholarship money! Yay!
Congratulations to all your kids on their many acceptances!! I've been reading each and every one and I am always so thrilled. What a special group of kids and parents we have here. :-)

I would write Undecided......nothing more...if it requires you to answer, call them and say you cannot answer until you have weighed all the options...since you are filling out a CSS you decision will FA based......
What can they say???

Vandy- congrats on the acceptance to Ohio Wesleyan with scholarship. And I love Ama's suggestion to write undecided...that's what I would do, but I agree, it is sort of a weird question.
