Hi, upper 50's in Massachusetts. What a mild winter! Of course, sometimes when we get April in February, we end up getting February in April. I'm hoping Mother Nature is just letting us off easy after last winter.

ML - glad you're getting some response. Why would you pay for the state to be insured? Let the state pay for their own insurance!

Good luck to DB's D and Pinot's S. Although I can't wish TOO much luck to DB's D, since I'm secretly hoping she ends up at D's college so I can hang out with DB on Family weekend for the next two years!

Saw "One for the Money" last night. I'm a big Stephanie Plum fan, but the movie wasn't nearly as funny as the books and Catherine Heigl, bless her, is woefully miscast as Stephanie. Also the guy playing Ranger talked too much, and never just referred to her as "Babe" and walked away, which is what Ranger does in the book.

In college news, D texted me that she has pinkeye. This is one of those times I'm just as happy that she's away at school!

No. Not until Son's fb status said it's a good day to play his Rush album.

Good luck to DB's D and Pinot's S! Crossing my fingers for good news for both.

ML - glad someone from the State is responding. Hope it ends up being in your favor.

Oh, and more importantly, congrats to your DS on the A!

IL - sorry about the tire! That's annoying that hitting a pothole counts as a collision.

I almost forgot to say thanks to everyone for the sympathetic comments on my flat tires. Thanks, iPeeps! I have to admit that I've been driving with trepidation for the past few days as I have no clue where the nails are coming from as there's no construction going on near my house or near my office. Oh, and yesterday morning I arrived at work while it was still dark, and I ended up parking in a pile of broken glass. No flat, but I'm not confident I won't wake up to one.

Otoh, the weather here has been fabulous - even though it was a little drizzly this morning. No complaints. How can I complain about 66 degrees on February 1st?

Still haven't had much of a conversation with D - she told H in an email yesterday that she got back to her room from a recruitment event after 5 AM, and then got up at 8:15 AM to work on an assignment for a 10 AM class. I had to call her this morning with some information, and she had almost no voice left, so again, it wasn't much of a conversation. I didn't realize that the recruitment events took up so much time. I guess D didn't share that with me last year.

Wishing everyone a good night. Sorry if I missed commenting on anyone's news - it's been a long day..........

LIMOMOF2, it seems as if our flat tires always come in groups. I don't think about tires for ages, then all of a sudden, we're buying multiple tires for two vehicles! Weird.

YDS, the weather in Austin sounds great - my mom said the predicted high for today was 78! Wow. She's worried about what that means for the summer, though.

Good morning.

Dickinson didn't release EA decisions yesterday. So we're still waiting.

I need to find out about this "One for the Money" movie. Everyone's talking about it, but I'm clueless.

Have a great Thursday.

Happy Groundhog Day !

♫ ♫ Happy 1st Birthday to precious little Zoey ♫ ♫

Had dance practice last night for our surprise dance competition during the pep rally tomorrow. Some of the parents are discussing doing it at half time of one of the games....like a flash mob. Oh. My. Gosh. We are now intering the gym "Boom chugga lugga, lugga" like the movie 'Stripes'.

No real college news....

Good morning! Pass the coffee!

YDS: Sorry about the sinus infection.

No news here. S3 takes his last final today. I am obsessively checking his Spanish grade on the school grades website, even though she said she was not going to post them until the weekend.

Speaking of flat tires, DH got a text yesterday from D1: "Dad, I was one of only 2 girls in my physics class who knows how to change a tire...thanks!" I'm not sure why they were talking about changing tires in physics class, but DH was happy that he has passed along that skill to our 3 Ds!
