Thanks for the coffee, 2ed & TGIF to the iPeeps!

mommusic: >cringe!< you have my sympathies. There are few things on earth that I fear as much as the sound of a dentist's drill.

mdem: I forgot about the Metro fare increase in July. I'll break it to S2 gently.

Today is the Day.When.Errors.Are.Corrected at my house. If all goes well, my hostage shower will be installed, the punch list completed, & we can declare the almost-3-month remodel officially finished. My friend has promised to help me celebrate with chocolate & champagne.

Been away for some time. DH is home after a year deployment. D1 is home for the summer. Still loving her university. She is beginning to look for internship opportunities in event planning. (any ideas appreciated). D2 is now officially a hs junior. Life is pretty good.

Good morning, and may I say a heartfelt TGIF!!

This has been the longest 4 day week ever, and it's not really over yet.

mdem - it is nice to "see" you here again. Hope that you are adjusting to being back in some classes, as well as to Florida.

I'm looking forward to getting some errands done this weekend (and the weather is supposed to be yucky here anyhow) so I can be ready for my trip next week for D's graduation. Still counting the days till I see my kids again.

good morning. We are expected to have rain for the whole weekend, and the stump removal in the front yard which was supposed to happen on Tuesday still hasn't happened, and grad party is next weekend and I had big plans for yard work post stump and sans rain..

D1 gets the keys to her apt for the next year today. Big milestone. In the money and real life discussions, I made her do her own taxes this year with my help. She had to do three- fed and two state NRs. We gave her 1/4 of her r&b allocation for the summer to manage with the apt and we'll see how that goes, esp since no job yet.

D2 lost all her wisdom yesterday, she is doing pretty well. H has nurse duty today.

Hi, everyone. I agree that this has been one looooong week. Ds gets home Monday. I can't wait. I'm behind from being out of town. Need to go pay bills.

Have a great day, everyone. ♥

Good morning! Thanks for the coffee!

I am in a good mood today. After a 3 month stint in the "main pharmacy" at work, I am back to my job as "clinical pharmacist". I don't mind the work in the "main pharmacy", and actually the day whizzes by because you are always busy, but the other pharmacist in there is BEYOND difficult to work with, so I am so happy to be out and back at my desk.

Whistle while you work…

Catchin’ up in the airport…

DB – I will definitely keep your sister and family in my thoughts.

You sound like my DW on those weeks that I work from home. Regardless, congratulations on the solo!

Funny you should mention that as I was working with a software company this week that wanted its support costs based on the Seattle-Tacoma CPI. I don’t think so, US/Urban CPI is much more reasonable.

TWINMAMA – I hope that the interview produces good results for role-model D!

Jc40/RobD – You “guys” get to have all the fun.

Footballmom – Good news from Kroger… employee discount?

Jackief – Hopefully D1 will find a job soon, D2 will recover quickly, and H will not mess up nurse duty.

YDS – Skip the bill paying. It’s way overrated.

Happy Belated Reluctant 30th Anniversary! I have a friend whose motto is, “Marriage is great! Everyone should do it at least twice.”

12rmh18 – I hope the METRO can survive a potential convergence of our kid’s worlds. D2 was similarly nonplussed when I told her what the weekly cost of METRO was going to be. Oh well, at least you can rest easy knowing that chocolate when consumed with champagne is calorie free.

I’m guessing that was a wise decision. Probably not because they were so clean that they thought that DW’s other pots and pans would have an inferiority complex.

BTW, Portugal is between Spain and home, so S1 should plan another convenient stop. Did you go with the “unlimited budget” option?

I will be in ATL from about 5:00-6:15 EDT. Hopefully our gates will be relatively close again. PM me or send me a text when you get in.

ProudNJMom – D2 has been back in NJ this week helping with “Reunions.” She was staying with a friend in one of the dorms w/o A/C and they decided that it was miserable, so they went to stay at the friend’s house (Colonia, NJ?) until they “had” to be on-campus. Tomorrow she takes the train back to DC to begin work next week.

Tx5 – I guess it’s too late to get in line for adoption by your mother?

D2 was never into the whole dating thing either… mostly because she has zero tolerance for guys doing something that aggravates her which is what HS guys do for a living. DW said that when she was home last week, D2 talked quite a bit about some guy at college which is very uncharacteristic for her. I am trying to figure out how to get D2 to have no guy interaction until after graduation… preferably post-grad graduation. Any good ideas?

KY - Welcome back. "Life is pretty good." - That says it all... cherish the time.

Alicew - Hang in there. Same for all you great parents enduring grueling weeks. Remember that this time too will someday be looked back upon as "the good old days".

G# - Per D2/dating..."Any good ideas?".... good luck with that

Hi, KY from the other Appalachian on here! Your D goes to HPU doesn't she? A good friend's S just graduated from there - going to Wake Forest for grad school in the fall.

G# - I wish. Heck, we spend enough there to pay his wages and several others. Actually, he's following in my footsteps. I worked for Kroger from '80 - '83, when I was in school.
