I posted on my work computer this morning, but it posted as if I had sent it last night at 8pm.

Good morning.
Sending good vibes out to showmom's D2. Hoping she will find a new friend or an engaging activity this week.
I second kinderny's request for good weather in Maine this coming weekend, though I'd like mine to be a little farther north (Ellsworth area) - my niece is getting married. Oh, and Happy Anniverary to the kindernys.
Not gonna touch any baseball references at this point.

Showmom: sorry to hear that your D2 is still not settling in. Sending lots of warm fuzzies up to her (& her mom as well.)

Looks like CC is still having problems. I was drinking coffee at 7 this morning, not 11 last night.

Good morning. Thanks for the coffee.
In 15 minutes, I should be finalizing the cabinet order for our new kitchen.
Of course, that means writing a big check for the deposit.
Looks like Son might actually apply for study abroad after all. In the last 10 hours, he's asked for his passport number and its expiration. Now I have to scurry off and learn which of his 529s pay for study abroad, if any. GULP. (thank goodness for CC. Here is where I learned that not all of them do.)

12rmh18--I am confident the Reds will continue to bash the Giants. The question is, who is next? Cards or Nats?
Good morning all! Not as cold here this a.m.....DS didn't have to scrape ice off his windshield before he went to work!
DH is working at home for a while, so the place smells like coffee. Nice!
DougBetsy--good luck with the kitchen...you'll enjoy it! Eventually! (also good luck with the study abroad project).

Morning all! Go Yankees (sorry DB!) Although I don't dislike the Orioles.
G#: when we visited Brown, I took great delight in telling D2 about the RISD mascot. She was mortified. Then we saw the guy on the RISD lawn doing some odd performance piece brandishing multiple swords. Gotta love art students
Showmom: paddle boarding sounds awesome. I was tempted this summer, but I don't have great balance. Maybe I'll try next year (windsurfing was an epic fail for me 25 years ago!)
Wanted to let you know that the PVC is working some magic. 2 things have popped up this week. So if I can ask for some more PVC tomorrow & then Thursday afternoon, the RobD household will be greatly appreciated
Sounds like a lot of us got married around the same time. DH & celebrated our 24th last week. Conveniently I scheduled my 25th anniversary & my 50th birthday for our 1st empty nest year. I feel the need to do something "big." Apparently my mom is trying to talk my kids into doing a party; I've told them in no way, shape or form is that to happen. I hate parties for me, but my mom wants to have a big party for something even if she doesn't know anybody who would be there. She did the same thing for my 21st. I did not react well...

Morning, iPeeps!
PVC is locked and loaded for Mr. D, Rob.
DB, congrats on the cabinets. Is the renovation on track? I didn't know that about the 529s.
Did I mention on here that I caught my microwave on fire? Last night, dh insisted we get a new one even though the other was working fine. But, boy, does it SMELL this morning. Still. And that's with throwing the old one out last night.
Dh and I turn 50 within two weeks of each other later this year, and it feels like we should have a big party, but no thanks.

Good morning!
I turn 50 in March. I don't think I want a party, I don't like being the center of attention, but I want to mark the day in some way. I remember I was skiing on my 30th birthday, but have no idea what I was doing on my 40th birthday. I would love to go to Hawaii, but with 2 kids in college and a third applying, that isn't in the cards for a while. In 5 years maybe I will have a "the kids are out of college let's have some fun" party.
Sending some positive vibes to Mr. RobD.
Also sending some patient vibes to DB for the re-model. We remodeled our kitchen a few years ago. My favorite part of our kitchen remodel was and is still our tile backsplash. I think DH's is the new sink.
Happy Tuesday!!

Another couple turning 50 here... we've decided not to have a big deal on the actual days in November and January as neither of us are big party people.
Instead we have decided to take a mega vacation in March or April when the weather improves. Current plan is a week in Rome and another week in London. I go to London on business several times a year but my wife has only been once. And neither of us has ever gone to Rome. So lots of planning underway!!
DD's wisdom teeth removal went remarkably well. All 6 removed, one day of pain killers and now back to normal. Both of my kids were lucky in this regard - relatively straight forward removals.

^^^All SIX!?!?!?! Yikes! Glad to hear your DD is doing well!
50th bdays...we didn't do anything. I got him a gift, but I didn't get one. It's not like we need a lot of stuff. For our 25th, we went away for a nice weekend in VA. Next year is our 30th -- suspect we will plan a trip using the frequent flyer miles he earns from work.
We are going to have to renovate our master bath -- tile has come off in the shower stall and it is all wet and moldy behind the wall. We'll have to see what the estimates look like before deciding if we go for a straightforward repair or some version of the reno we have been talking about (though we REALLY didn't want to do this while we are still paying tuition, esp. since I have no income). Sigh.

Yup - six... I knew she was wise beyond her years. Actually both my wife and I had five so I guess she inherited this from both of us!!!
Joys of dental insurance - they only pay for four so we got stuck with the extra two.
