Good morning! I have muffins to go with the coffee! Almond meal, buckwheat flour, flaxseed meal, bananas, eggs, dates, chocolate chips. They'll give you strength to do what needs to be done, to quote Garrison Keillor.
Found out S#2 & fiancee are visiting this weekend!
And S#3 (current DS at home) took my broad hint and got himself a haircut. I left a very good coupon for Great Clips AND some cash on his desk. Can't get much broader than that.

This morning's great discovery...as a bonus for buying my S new pants (30/34) I have found that at least one pair of his old cargo pants (30/32) fit me just fine! I love those things for casual wear. Yay for hand-me-ups.
Now I will put my name on the label, like for camp, so they won't get put away in the wrong person's drawer.

mommusic - yay for the cargo pants. Alas, I am still looking for 28/34 pants for S (or even 28/32) and they don't seem to exist.
My real mission here is to bump us back to page one, so here goes.

Lots of excitement in the northeast last night, while out on our anniversary dinner we felt rattling in the old barn which houses the restaurant, turned out it was an earthquake! Didn't realize it until I checked facebook and it was the topic of conversation for everyone!
D gets in in about 36 hours, but probably won't see her until the following morning. |

2 vehicles stolen in our town in the past 24 hours. We are normally a crime free area. Hmmm.....makes me think a little more about that sound that woke me up at 4:50 this morning. I thought it was a car alarm. Not very close, but close enough I heard it.
No college news. My parents ordered S10 a bookstore gift card for Christmas today. His bookstore is amazing with all kinds of stuff from tailgate/bbq supplies to college apparel, to yard gnomes to *gasp* textbooks. He passes through everyday during his break on the way to the student lounge.
D15 is going with her class to one of our state colleges to a career fair tomorrow. She is so indecisive...she wants to be anything from a doctor to a photographer, and a basketball coach to a radiology technician. Maybe this will help her find a direction.
Anyone know anything about hedgehogs?

It's on D15' Christmas list.....right up there with an iphone! Normally her list is a mile long but so far she's only got a few things on it, and part of it I'll share the ideas with her grandparents. From what I've found out, they're low maintenence, kind of like a rabbit. I'm just not sure if we want a male or female & why. I've found 3 USDA breeders within 2 hours of me. I may go visit one of them Saturday. Apparently its big business. They require deposits and have waiting lists and everything ! i just want to know what we're getting into first. We've had numerous hamsters, gunea pigs, rabbits, etc over the years. first hedgehog.
The year the easter bunny brought baby rabbits, I was waiting in line at petco when two rough leather clad bikers came in and asked the worker in a sweet voice, "Where's your
bunnies?" Guess I shouldn't stereotype......bikers don't all own snakes and pitbulls....... |

Morning All!
Parent of a ds/2013 and dd/2014 ~ yep all about college visits , applications, and ACT at my house
Live in the Chicago Suburbs, both kids wants to stay in the Midwest. Makes me happy!
I think they will both end up in Business and both possibly with a music minor. Good kids, happy - athletes and band kids. Going to be really quiet around here in a couple years |
