Morning. It's really chilly here. I also got up because I was so cold, mommusic. I don't know why we didn't turn on the heater knowing it was going to hit freezing. I'm waiting until the afternoon to walk the dog, after lunch with a friend.

So, fun adventure for ds in NZ. He got to seePrince Charles and Camilla. They were doing some kind of royal meet-and-greet, and ds and the other girl in his office walked down to see if they could see them. They did, but ds said he was next to cute schoolgirls in uniform so Charles turned all his attention to them. Still, fun!

He thinks the group is going to celebrate T'giving together, and he plans to make one of his delicious apple pies.

Yes, very cool royalty sighting. I'd like to see that myself.

Just a bump back to the first page.

Good afternoon! The good news is that it is Tuesday and a 4 day workweek! The bad news is we have to do 5 days of work in 4. But it is worth it!!

YDS: Will your DS be home by Christmas? Sounds like he is having quite the adventure!

I love those ideas P56!!

Ok break is over I have to go back to work!

will be glad when this semester is over...just listening to stuff S2 has to get done is making me tired! he is off to present a poster tomorrow at a meeting through sunday and i think if he could, he would just hide out in the hotel room and catch up on sleep!

glad he has decided on a lighter load for next semester. looks like he is settled with 16 credits , then plans to do summer again.

S is getting those summer internship apps in...just realized there are a whole bunch of REU's he could apply for if none of the current prospects pan out. They're not due until Feb., however, so he has some breathing room.

The REU's have various requirements, however; one wants not only a transcript, but a description of every course he's taken, and the textbooks used! Don't think THAT's gonna happen!

And he's taking a couple of online courses through Udacity. Anybody have any experience with this? Free, no credit, seem to be all STEM courses. There are other online providers with courses in other areas.

Some of us were saying Thanksgiving seems early this year. Next week already??? I know time speeds up as you get older but really...

Good morning. Coffee's ready.

I'm up and moving a little early this morning to finish packing. This evening we fly to Miami, and leave from there tomorrow morning for several days in Cuba. I will probably not have much, if any, internet access while there, but I'll be with you in spirit.

Wow, alice, I can't wait to hear what Cuba is like! How cool.

DS had two tests one day last week, in a hard math class (lots of proofs) and macroeconomics. He got 100 on each of them! He also got an A on a macroeconomics paper. The professor wrote all sorts of nice comments on it. He asked DS if he'd thought majoring in economics! I'm so happy for him. One of my biggest worries was that his illness had affected him neurologically, because that happens a lot. I guess I can stop worrying about that.

S10 neded to stay in KC a night last summer and all the hotels had a "21" age policy. I even offered to pay in advance, etc but didn't work. I explained why it wouldn't be safe to drive over two hours home at 3:00 am......I finally found ONE...I think it was a Hampton ?!

Actually, Thanksgiving is kind of early this year. October almost always has 5 weeks, this year it's November. My preschool lesson plans are off a week with our pilgrim & turkey stuff, I had to switch this week out with the last week of November and bump up my Thanksgiving plans. Yesterday it was porcupines and today Pilgrims......

New GF is going to be here for a few days next week. S10 will be home Friday night in time to see D15 at Basketball spirit Night. At this point, meeting the GF is a big deal.....what if she is the ONE ? I really hope I like her.

D15 had to be at school early again today but this time for the Noodle Factory. her FCCLA club makes homemade noodles and sells them by the gallon as a fundraiser. They sell a lot, especially since they are all delivered this weekend, just in time for Thanksgiving
dinner.

Anyone else looking at new apartment leases? S and all 3 roommates plan to live together again next year. They like their current place, where S has lived two years. The new place is much bigger. It is across the street. Really ?! We have to pack & move everything....across the street.
