Both parents are legacy...does it help chances?

at most colleges it helps alot...dont know about clemson. I'm sure that ne where if u were right on the line it could push u to be accepted

Unfortunately it counts very little! If all things are equal between a legacy and a non-legacy the legacy MIGHT get the nod!

Legacy counts, but you have to have the academics to back it up. As alums i feel we have the responsibility to prepare our kids for Clemson, not rest on the fact that we went there.

Legacy does help all things being equal. Last year my two high school seniors applied, the one with strong academics was admitted, the one with much lower GPA and SAT scores was not. However, when the head of the Alumni organization called to tell me ( yes, Clemson does call Alums personally when their children are not admitted) he invited my child to reapply through appeal if my son knew for sure he would attend if admitted. I had the feeling that his application would be more carefully examined 2nd round to see if admission could be granted.
