My daughter was awarded a substantial merit scholarship to attend Univ. of S. Carolina, but wants to attend Clemson. We live OOS and she has not received any merit award from Clemson as of yet. Has anyone been in this boat before and have any advice for us? I plan to contact Clemson next week to see if they are willing to make a competitive offer. Thanks...
Clemson is still reviewing for scholarships. I'm not sure what their timetable is for notification, but it hasn't come yet. I'm guessing maybe last week of March, first week of April. The Clemson scholarship has a threshold of 1350 SAT and top 10% of class. If your D meets that criteria she will probably get some type of scholarship.
You're welcome, bostonbred. But please keep in mind that I'm far from being an authority on the topic so it might not hurt to make a call anyway. When I've called in the past about other matters they were very friendly and helpful.
Okay, I think I was wrong. I was told today that the Recruiting scholarships have already been mailed out -- those are the larger ones. Some of the smaller offers will go out around the end of the month. So if you have not heard anything yet, you will probably not be recieving a large scholarship.
