Is being close to Fike (the gym) important to you? Also, are you a guy or a girl?

No I do not really care where on campus I'm located, just as long as nothing is too far out of the way to get to. I'm a guy too so co-ed and all male doesn't really make a difference to me either

Well, Johnstone and the shoeboxes are closer to the better dining hall (Harcomb) , and Fike. Byrnes has better rooms IMO than both of them. If I had to choose, I would live in Byrnes. . Is there anything specific you are looking for.

As far as rooms, bathrooms, etc. I would rate it Byrnes (I'm probably spelling this wrong), Shoeboxes, and Johnstone.

I know that Johnstone is ready to be bulldozed...literally, next up in the plans...and did hear that it smells...I wouldn't put it down as an option.

Byrnes hall

We are preparing to move in Saturday and wondered if the desk and dressers in Byrnes are movable? We ordered a loft from collegiate concepts but also have some wood lofts we could bring instead that would be taller. The collegiate concept loft is only 59in high. If the furniture in the room cant be moved around due to the tall shelves on the desk that would help us make a decision. Any advice? Thanks

Moved my son into Byrnes this time last year. Can't remember if the desk and/or dresser were movable but the way the room is laid out there is really no other place to move them and it looked to me like if you go with wood it would be a really tight fit since the desk, bed, dresser combo takes up the entire length of the room with only an inch or so to spare. I was concerned the added 6 inches or so from the wood would make to too hard to build. In addition move-in day is hectic enough without trying to assemble a wood loft. Son never complained about the height of the col concepts setup. Had room for a futon under one bed and TV/fridge/etc under the other. Some other advice: Get there early, put the room # on the boxes and bring a dolly.
