Best Computer to buy for Clemson

Well I just got back from an awesome freshman orientation. Now I need to buy a laptop. Seems the two most popular choices are the Dell D630 and the Apple MacBook. I am not in a computer intensive major and I am not particularly computer savvy. I am not a gamer either. I want ease of use, dependability, and portability. Which should I get?

THANKS!!!!!!!

I'm glad to hear that you had a great orientation!

Is Clemson not partnering with IBM/Lenovo anymore? Around campus most people have either a Macbook or IBM/Lenovo because they have both been supported through the university. If you like Mac's, go for that as most people love them. Personally, I am using a Lenovo and love it. It doesn't have many of the 'cute' features of some other notebooks, but its gets the job done very well. Is there anything you are looking to have specifically?
