Any input on Honors Program, or Department of Mathematical Sciences?

My daughter is trying to choose between Clemson and UNC. Any thoughts? She plans to major in Mathematical Sciences; can anybody tell us anything about that department? She's actually leaning toward Clemson - UNC has a better reputation, but Clemson seems cozier, and she's been accepted into the Honors program. Do people think the Honors program adds a lot to their Clemson experience? I know you can live in the Honors dorm, and take Honors seminars. Does the Honors program bring any other opportunities (like access to research opportunities, etc.)?

The honors program has their own research courses (like the senior thesis). They also have special events, priority (free) tickets to cultural events, dinners, etc. While I wouldn't be unhappy at Clemson without being a part of the honors college, it does add quite a bit to my experience. As with a lot of things at college, what you get out of it depends on how much you put in.
