My son was not able to take the language placement test before registering for classes so he is not taking Spanish this semester. Do you think he should he take the placement test on the make up date (Aug. 17th I think) just to get it out of the way or should he wait?..
What level is your son looking to start at? IMO, he should take the test asap just to get it out of the way. While I was in Clemson this summer I took a Spanish class- only half of the students had even taken the test.
Im not sure where he would start in Spanish Mitch. He took four years in high school and did well, probably an A average. Was originally going to minor in it, but when he decided to major in Chemistry he backed off lol.
The language test would be very helpful for him. I took a few years of Spanish in high school, but I started over in college to refresh myself. If he is considering taking Spanish this year, I would suggest he take the test soon so he can be placed. If he waits a year or two, he can always take a step down from where he placed to brush up on his language skills.

Is he planning on taking spanish second semester? If so, I would probably go ahead and take the language placement test and get it out of the way. If JT's gonna move spanish back to his sophomore or junior year, it might be better to take the test later because who knows how much of that spanish he might actually retain. I quit french junior year and now I hardly remember any of it haha
