Does your Intended Major have an effect on weather you get accepted or not

For Example would it be easier for say a Prospective History to gain acceptance rather than say a prospective Mechanical engineer major?

your choice of major does have an effect on whether you get in or not because they only have a certain number of spaces in each major

I'm guessing that the sciences, technical fields (engineering, architecture), pre-health, nursing majors will be the hardest to get into. Traditional liberal arts majors such as history, english etc... will be easier to get into.

Your GPA is a bit low but the AP's and ACT score should make up for it

no out of 4.0, the 4.9 is weighted; unweighted GPA is 3.83

If your SAT is between 1160-1310 (Critical Reading + Math only) or your ACT is between 25-30, you should have a good chance of getting in. Also, class rank is important as 50% of students were in the top 10% of their high school class, 75% in the top 20% and 98% in the top half of their high school class.
