Any current OOS Students

Saw that 70% of students are in state.

Is being from out of state an issue?

Does the campus vacate on weekends?

Also interested in this. Son will be out of state as well.

Any tips on getting to Clemson, from those from OOS? We're in Louisiana, specifically, New Orleans.

I hear it's easier to go through Atlanta, but I'd rather not fly where the Dirty Birds are!

Had to make that comment, given tonight's game.

I have visited twice and flew into Charlotte.

Not sure what the traffic would be like around Atlanta.

Easy drive up I85.Barely any turns.

Being from out of state is a non-issue. There are a lot of out of state students (numbers wise- 30% of ~15k) so your son or daughter will not be alone. Campus is very lively during weekends, even when there isn't a home football, basketball, concert, etc. The only time campus dies is during the normal holiday breaks, but even then there are many students who stick around.

Most people fly into Charlotte, Greenville, or Atlanta depending on what is cheapest. I have also met a lot of students that take the train. Amtrak has a station in downtown Clemson (~10 min walk from campus).

I have met at least 30 students from Massachusetts and probably about 50+ from New England. There are also tons of people from California, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New York and Maryland.

The campus is much alive on the weekends. Like Mitch said, the only time the campus is dead is during holiday breaks (fall break, thanksgiving break, spring break). I stayed over fall break and the campus was dead (people stayed around but not that many and nobody came out).

You can fly into Greenville, Charlotte or Atlanta or take the Amtrak train into Clemson which is in downtown Clemson.
