CLEP exams will have no bearing on admissions as a passing score will either allow you to earn credit or be placed out of a class (allowing you to take more in-depth coursework). If you know what universities you plan to apply to, check out their CLEP policy before anything else. I would suggest checking with a dean in the business college to see if they would have a problem with you taking a CLEP business exam if your major is in business. Always, always, always check with the college as each one is permitted to establish their own policy, even by department.
While calling the university, you might also ask if they have a policy of accepting the DSST (also called DANTES) exams as this testing program also has a number of business exams. If you haven't heard of them, check them out (
