Bears Triumph Over Kings Point

Bears Rally to Beat Rival Kings Point 26-18

KINGS POINT, N.Y.--(1/10/06)--Freshman 133-pounder Eric Heithaus beat Alex Lochren 16-3 to earn six points and give Coast Guard a come-from-behind 26-18 win over rival Kings Point.

125 pound freshman Brian Conrad pinned Jacob Spriggs in 2:38 in the second to the last match of the night as the Bears took the lead 22-18 heading into the final match.

Jacob Paarlberg (149), Zach Mau (157), Devin Pomranky (165) and Dan Miller (184) all picked up wins for the Bears (1-1).

With the win, the Bears pick up a point in the annual battle for the Superintendent's Trophy in which the winning team in every sport gets a point when the Bears battle the Mariners. Coast Guard has never lost the Superintendent's trophy.

KP's version of events: http://kpmariners.collegesports.com/...011006aaa.html. Nice job, Coasties, especially in foreign territory!
As a reminder, the 25th Annual Secretaries' Cup was won by KP 21-7 in football this year! Just a little tweaking there... As a reminder, with conference changes, the BIG football game will be in the second week of the season next year in KP - maybe Parent's Weekend? Or the week before in Sept.

Thanks Weski...it's actually our first game I think Sept. 9.

JM all the coastie parents hang on the listserv...it's been hot lately with a lot of talk about the kids' income tax...you know you can't claim your ds anymore as a deduction...no matter how much he eats at the mansion.

I am getting some conflicting info so I'll try to consolidate and start a new thread. It's a very interesting topic with a lot of variables.
