I did, and I just found out today when I came home from track practice. I am an "alternate" meaning that I wasn't good enough to get in on the first try but will find out my final status by May 1st. Good luck to all of you who applied.

Kyleg687- I too am an "alternate"

I went to the academy's website and I don't think it is quite what your thinking. 3 things can happen when you apply early,

1) appointment, yay!
2) deferrment to regular decision (one last look)
3) alternate, I am pretty sure they will look at our files on a more continuous basis now (like rolling admissions) hence why they want the PFE in before march 1. Will see...but I think we're definetly in a better spot than deferrment people...i think
