Because the Eagle is relatively small, cadets go on in different phases. There are two phases for 3/c cadets and three for 4/c or swabs. Basically the phase is the period of time they are on the ship. There are also phases for OCS(officer's candidate school) cadets. The OCS is located at the Academy and those students (who are all college graduates) go for 17 weeks of training, including a period of time on the Eagle. The swabs are on board for a week at a time and the 3/c's(such as my son) for five or six weeks.
The phase change takes place when one crew replaces the other.

I've got a date marked. Funny, I feel the urge for hot wings coming on. You realize, he might find him a south carolina girl down here and get the wind blown out of his sails...... My Mid says there's nuthin' finer than a girl from Carolina...... I probably know just the place to take him to meet a few! LOL
