Summer Training Newz

The CGC Rush is making a historic trip to China this summer and some 3/c cadets are on board. Here is a link to a story and pictures about the boat and cadets.

Also three prominent cadets, aka Sullivan, Fainer and Sapia have arrived safely in Ketchikan, Alaska as of last night for their assignment to the Acushnet.

Good luck and fair winds to the cadets. Sure beats spending the summer working at Mickey D's!

Boss, is this the info on the Acushnet? If it is, she's been around a while. Its a historical ship and I noticed the Merchant Marine flag on the infomation page.

Wonder why they don't have current news on it's whereabouts. Guess no one has bothered to update the info in a while. She's a pretty thing isn't she?

CONGRATS TO THE COASTIES! Stay safe & fair winds to all!

Yep that's the one...she is the second oldest cutter in service. Thanks for digging up that info...you're the best!

Acushnet on Brief Shakedown Cruise

Pics taken yesterday of CGC Acushnet, summer home to three 3/c's from CGA.

They had spent the week painting her and she will be going on a patrol next week.

I know some kids who must be loving being on her deck. She is a pretty thing and to know that they helped maintain a piece of history must feel pretty good indeed. Post 'em as you get 'em Boss!
