Back from Visit

Well I just got back from my trek back and forth across the US in a couple of days. I am extremely wore out and so I'm gonna keep its short.( I'm almost on twenty fours hours straight right now and didn't sleep but about an hour or two on the plane.) I absolutely fell in love with the place. Its amazing and i absolutely can't wait to be apart of it. those of you on the cusp and coming from someone who is putting in an extra couple of years to follow a dream.... its worth it. This weekend validated it for me. Feel free to ask any questions. I was able to spend two nights their.

Alright sorry it took me so incredibly long to reply. I just moved into a new apartment and I don't have internet hooked up right now so its few and far between in my posts. Anyways, the whole trip just really reinforced my thinking about one, what I wanted to do with my life and why I wanted to do it, and two it showed me how life at the academy was really like. I wasn't surprised. It was exactly what I thought it would be which is a good thing. It's gonna suck at times but its nothing any of us can't handle.Especially when we realize what we are doing and the incredible privileges and responsibility that will be bestowed upon us at graduation and in the years to come. All of the cadets were great that I met. I was really impressed with the mutual respect between everyone their. Everyone seemed to be their and truly wanted to cooperate and help because they knew where we were at as incoming cadets for 12'. I also got to meet most of my classmates that will be going to NMMI with me as well as some kids on the baseball team I'll be playing with at NMMI and the academy. All of my classmates seem to be great and am definitely looking forward to getting it all underway. Their is going to be about 20 some odd kids going to NMMI that I know of, about 6 going to Marion and then I believe due to either budget constraints or something else they only had abotu 12 slots for NAPS which I believe they filled up. As I've said before I'm extremely excited and the USCGA campus was even more pretty than I had anticipated ( and it rained all weekend )

Great report...I concur with all your points. I know it seems a long way off but the next year will go by fast and before you know it you'll be reporting for the Class of '12...good luck at NMMI and watch out for scorpions!
