Academy application on Aug 15th?

My son was told that the website app will be active beginning 8/15.

Has anyone heard any differently?

Why do they wait so long, compared to the other academies?

That date is correct...I suppose they wait since there is no nomination required which saves you a lot of time and effort.

Looks like the application will be delayed until September.

Enrollment for the Class of 2011 (entered July 2007) is now closed. The application for the Class of 2012 (entering June 2008) will be available in early September. If you have created a profile, you will be notified via e-mail when the application is posted online.

I know, hurry up and wait.

At AIM they told us September, so this seems right. They also said something about an early decision in October. Can anyone confirm/deny this? It seems a bit too good to be true.

Last year deadline to apply was 11/1 for early decision
final application deadline was 3/1.
Those who apply by 1/11 received notice of status by 12/15.
Status could be
1. Full Appointments
2. Conditional Appointments (applicant may need to complete a medical examination
3. Alternates

Appointments were granted from 12/15 until around May 30th
