Class of 2012 Appointments?
A big thick white envelope from the USCGA was just delivered at our house!

My son won't be home from school for a little while longer, but could this be the beginning of the appointment envelopes arriving?

I guess we'll find out in a few hours.

That's it. My son received his on the same day last year. Thick white envelope. He'll problably also get an E-mail for "Overnight with Cadet", soon.

Sounds exciting for you and your son! Luigi59, where do you live? I live in remote rural area of NC so it may take another day or two for me to receive envelope.

Yes, he just opened it, it is the official Class of 2012 appointment offer.

Last year my daughter received the notification of her appointment by e-mail first (Friday, Dec. 15th, I think), and then the 'big envelope' arrived the next day. So check your e-mail too!!!

GREAT NEWS Luigi & Wafflebear! No news here yet. I did receive USNA nom from my Congressmen yesterday (ironic timing) but no news from USCGA.

Test scores, etc.
Can those getting appointments please mention test scores, extracuriculars, etc. Still trying to guage how competitive my son is. Thanks. Congrats to all!

Tell them I said congrats. Its a huge step in the right direction. Make sure to keep us posted on here what company everyone is going to be in as that information becomes available.

yup i got mine today as well...for those who got theirs and have facebook i've made a facebook group for it...just search Coast Guard Academy Class of 2012 in the group search section. Congrats everyone!! ps i'll put some pictures up tomorrow
