IMPROBABLE RUN CONTINUES; BEARS ONE STEP FROM FINAL FOUR
COLLEGEVILLE, PA.—-(3/14/08)—-Senior Al Sowers scored nine straight points as the Bears used an 18-1 second half run to knock off No. 13 Rochester and continue their improbable run in the Division III NCAA Tournament with a 57-48 win at Ursinus College earning the Bears a berth in the Elite 8.
Coast Guard (24-6), which won its 13th straight, held Rochester (22-6) to a season-low 48 points.
The Bears, who have won a school-record 24 games, will play host Ursinus on Saturday night at 7 p.m. for a berth in the NCAA Division III Final Four.
