Packages starting to come!

My son got his package today with R day forms and details, and his officials appointment!

Yep, a nice white "leather-bound" folder showed up today with lots of forms to be filled out!

Cadet Handbook and Parent Handbook came via email.

What was really fun was that it was waiting for him when we got home from a visit to the Academy for an "experience day" and put an exclamation point on that experience!

How are those days by the way? I haven't been able to go to one yet.

"experience day"

It was a great experience, I would say especially so if you haven't made up your mind.

It was a full day, 8-4, with the parents and cadets/possible cadets having lots of time together, but some apart. All-in-all it was a great day.

There was a chance for meeting some faculty (who were all great), coaches (who were also all great), eat the great food (cadets in the ward room with some 4c cadets, parents in the Officers Club with coaches and faculty) and get a lot of questions answered.

For us it was 12 hours driving days, going and coming, but we all agreed it was well worth it!

We're still waiting for our nice "leather-bound folder with goodies" to show up..but boy, is it a lot easier wait this time around. I would never go thru that "am I in or not?" spring again.

Lesson learned: do early admission!

Enjoy your weekend. That is truly a great way to start it off! Thanks for keeping our S in your prayers. Only a few more days to wait, hopefully?

Still waiting in CA!

Son is in!

We got the call this morning. Can't believe it's finally gonna happen. Should get our package in a day or two. Does anyone know what the deadline is for son to accept? Also, he is going to dentist tomorrow - does anyone know what he needs to do? Thanks to everyone for all the help, advice, and encouragement. Good luck to all those still waiting. Don't give up!

Congratulations. Not sure on the date. Bitewings and panoramics taken after January 1, 2008 on the xrays.

I believe the deadline for acceptance is May 1 or 2 weeks after receiving, whichever is later. Congrats!

It's Here!

Big white envelope. Son is on his way home. We got the verbal Tuesday, but this makes it real. Good luck to everyone still waiting.
