Glock, have you made a decision yet between CGA and Embry-Riddle?

Yes, and I chose CGA. Although I'm giving up flying in college, I believe the CGA will give me more than AF ROTC can.

You can still fly while at CGA, although probably not as frequently as you would at Embry-Riddle, if you join the Cadet Aviation Club. We know cadets who took lessons and flew out of a local airport.

Probably Groton airport? I think that's the closest FBO. I already have my Pilot License and I would love to be able to fly once or twice a month to stay current. Do you know how it works with leave time though? Can you only fly on leave time? And can 4th classes fly? Thanks.

flying

gglock, our Son has pilots license as well. we were told on our last visit that he would have chances to fly, even during 4c year. I believe it is through the aviation club and the local cg auxiliary.

You don't really need a camelback as you are issued a water bottle which you take everywhere with you.

flying

This sounds like great news for our son who is interested in flying. He has 28 hours, but has not earned his license. I can't wait to tell him. Thank you so much for this post.

Yes, thank you. I had no idea we could fly. Even though it may not be often, I am sure it's better than nothing! I wish they told me this when I asked about aviation during my academy visit. Thanks.
